According to the 2010 Census, the population of Denpasar was 788,445 people. The 2014 Census showed that the entire island of Bali had a population of 4,225,000 people.

Bali is situated between the Indonesian islands of Java and Lombok. Indonesia only has land borders with Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, and East Timor-Leste. It also has maritime borders with India, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, Palau, and Australia.
